DLR-MIT-TUM
Workshop on Coding and Random Access

Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany - 24-25 February 2020

On February 24-25, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are organizing a workshop on channel coding in connection to modern random access protocols. The workshop will provide an informal atmosphere to discuss recent advances and open challenges in the design of coding schemes with application to (massive) uncoordinated multiple access systems (IoT/M2M).

The workshop will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Modern random access protocols
  • Fundamental limits on communications for small data sets
  • Wireless access protocols for vehicular networks
  • Wireless access protocols for the IoT, M2M communications and large-scale wireless sensor networks
  • Efficient access schemes for very short-packet communications
  • Access protocols for low-latency, ultra-reliable communications
  • Signal processing for successive interference cancellation in MAC protocols
  • Innovative techniques for 5G and IoT radio access networks
  • Channel coding and modulation for sporadic transmission over wireless channels
  • Random access protocols for real-time applications
  • Energy efficient MAC-PHY spatial processing
  • Channel estimation and user detection in massive access protocols
